- 10Both choirs have the same welcoming The Stage Door Choir feel and sing musical theatre, film and feel-good favourites taught by West End Musical Directors. Greenwich rehearses on Monday evenings and Wimbledon on Wednesday evenings, both from 7:30–9pm. Choose whichever location and evening suits you best — your first taster is free.
- 11Come as you are — there’s no audition and no solo singing required. You’ll join a normal rehearsal, warm up with the group, learn songs and harmonies with our musical team and get a proper feel for the choir. Lots of people arrive on their own, and you’re equally welcome to bring a friend.
- 12Choir membership is available in two ways:£100 for one 10-week term, or £25 per month, spreading the £300 annual membership cost across 12 monthly payments. The monthly option continues throughout the year, including months when rehearsals are not running, and has a minimum commitment of one term.Membership includes your regular rehearsals, access to choir music and learning resources, harmony practice materials and opportunities to take part in performances and choir activities. Before joining, you can try The Stage Door Choir with a free taster session in Greenwich or Wimbledon.
- 13Your membership fees help us provide a professionally run choir experience. They contribute towards professional Musical Directors, rehearsal venue hire, musical arrangements and learning resources, licences and permissions where required, website and member systems, administration and the wider costs involved in running rehearsals and performances. We aim to keep membership good value while maintaining a high standard of musical direction, organisation and member experience.
- 14Membership is based on a term commitment rather than payment per individual rehearsal, so we’re normally unable to offer refunds for sessions you choose or are unable to attend. This allows us to plan rehearsal venues, Musical Directors, music resources and performance preparation in advance. If you experience exceptional circumstances, please contact us and we’ll always consider individual situations fairly.
- 15If you need to cancel or pause your membership, please contact The Stage Door Choir team by email.Include your full name and the choir location you attend so we can locate your membership quickly and confirm the next steps with you.The monthly payment option has a minimum commitment of one term. We’ll check your membership and payment status, and if any amount remains due for the period you have committed to, we’ll explain this clearly before confirming the cancellation. And of course, you’ll always be very welcome to return in the future.
- 16Membership is £100 for a 10-week term or £25 per month. It includes your weekly rehearsals plus access to rehearsal materials such as scores, lyrics and harmony tracks, as well as member socials, discounts and opportunities to perform. Your first taster is free, so you can try us before deciding.
- 17No. Performances are optional.Members are invited to take part in as many or as few performance opportunities as they feel comfortable with. Some singers love performing straight away, while others prefer to spend time building their confidence first. There is no pressure either way. When you do decide to perform, we work hard to make the experience organised, exciting and enjoyable.
- 18Most standard choir performance opportunities do not have an additional participation fee.Depending on the event, members may need to cover their own travel, food or other personal expenses.Occasionally, we may offer special opportunities that involve additional costs, such as travel, accommodation, recording experiences or unusual venues. Any costs will always be explained clearly in advance and participation will be optional.
- 19We aim to use rehearsal venues with accessible facilities and to make The Stage Door Choir as welcoming and inclusive as possible.Accessibility can vary between venues, so please check our Locations & Term Dates page for the latest information about Greenwich and Wimbledon. If you have specific access requirements, you are very welcome to contact us before your first rehearsal so we can help wherever possible.
- 20Members can access choir music, learning materials and performance information through the Members' Backstage Area of the website.Once your membership is active, you can log in to access the resources available for the current term, including materials designed to help you practise between rehearsals. If you are attending a taster session, we’ll provide the information you need before your rehearsal. Our musical resources and arrangements are prepared to support members throughout the term and help everyone arrive at rehearsals feeling as confident and prepared as possible.
