I am a direct debit Member, why am I paying for The Stage Door Choir during the academic holidays when there are no rehearsals?The Stage Door Choir is £300 per year (3 terms x £100). Direct Debit payments are £25.00 per month throughout the year (12 months x £25.00) which means payment will still be taken even though there are no Choir rehearsals. £25.00 monthly payments are as follows: January/February/March/April – Spring Term (£100) May/June/July/August – Summer Term (£100) September/October/November/December – Autumn Term (£100)

Do you offer any discounts for choir membership?Yes, we offer exclusive discounts for our choir members! What repertoire do you teach?We teach songs from the Musicals and Movies! We try to keep our repertoire as varied as possible each term for our singers. We do operate a suggestions box in our venue, so please do share any songs requests that you would like to see appear in our repertoire. We have a large library of song options but if our singers are inspired we will try to inclue your favourites where possible!

Do I need to read music?There is no requirement to read music. We also offer Lyric sheets. You will join a group of like-minded singers, who simply love to sing and will, most likely, not have had any prior experience. Your voice will soon blend with the group and you will be taught by a professional Musical Director who will quickly help to build your confidence.

We will do our best to accommodate your request. If you are participating in an event with us, your Choir Leader will share all relevant information directly. How do I join the Choir?Visit the Membership and Pricing page to review our Membership Plans. We have 2 options: A termly fee and a rolling direct debit option for those wishing to spread the termly costs through the year. If you are still unsure we have a popular Taster Session available to book at any point throughout the term, where you can book a seat and try us out before you decide!

I'm new to choir singing. Is The Stage Door Choir suitable for beginners?Absolutely! The Stage Door Choir is perfect for beginners. Our team is here to support your vocal journey. It's normal to feel a bit anxious at your first rehearsal, but our goal is to have every member leave with a smile and feeling inspired. Give it a go—you've got this!

How do I access the Music Resources?All Music downloads, as well as performance information can be found in the Member's Backstage Area. To login, visit the Member' Backstage Area where you will be prompted to log in or sign up. If you have booked a Taster Session, you will be emailed the music on the Sunday prior to your rehearsal. Our arrangements are created by Professional Musical Directors working within the West End and uploaded to the Members Backstage Area in time for the specific rehersal. Resources and access to the Members Backstage Area are only available when Membership payments are up to date.

Will I get a refund if I don’t attend all the sessions in the term?We ask for a termly commitment to The Stage Door Choir and only in exceptional circumstances would we be able to offer a refund.

Do I have to pay to take part in performances?There is usually no cost to take part in a performance however, you may have to pay for your own transport and refreshments where appropriate. We do offer unique and exceptional opportunities to perform at certain venues, recording studios and unique media opportunities. These types of events may come with extra costs, for example, travel and accommodation. However, no Member will be under pressure to take part.

Can I join the choir mid-term?Yes, you can join the choir any time of the year, although if it is near the end of a term we may recommend that you start the following term.

How much does it cost?Choir membership is £25 per month which is payable by a rolling monthly direct debit. The cost is spread over the year. Alternatively you can pay a one off payment per term of £100 for ten weeks of rehearsals. Both options include all lyrics, choir rehearsals, performances and extra rehearsal dates. You can try the choir before becoming a member with our £10 Taster Session fee.

Do I need to audition?No. We have a no audition policy so that everyone can enjoy their rehearsals comfortably without pressure or judgement. It is important to us that our singers feel supported.

What do the fees cover?The rehearsal fees cover the cost of paying the Professional Musical Directors, The Stage Door Cast and Crew, hiring the venues; creation of all the musical resources; performance licences for all the songs that we use; copyright fees to the publishers; maintenance of our website; VAT, and other administrative costs along with the general expenses incurred in the day to day running of a business.

Can I change my Taster Session date?Absolutely! To change your taster session date, please contact The Stage Door Team via our email address on our "Contact Us" page and we will be able to assist you.

What is the process to cancel my choir membership?To cancel your membership, please email The Stage Door Team via our 'Contact Us' page. Include your full name, the venue you attend, and any additional information. We will check that payments are up to date and process your cancellation. You are always welcome to return to The Stage Door Choir at any time!

Can I bring a friend?You are more than welcome to bring a friend but you must ask your friend to also book their Free Taster Session using our website. This is in case we need to contact both of you with any news of cancellation or changes to the rehearsal session. You will both need to enter your individual email addresses when you register as our database does not accept the same email address for two people. Check out our Refer a Friend Page for referral discounts... you can refer as many friends as you like!

Do I have to take part in performances?Members are invited to do as much or as little as they like and are under no pressure to perform. Although the performances are well-organised and create an exciting experience for our singers, some Members choose to wait and build their confidence before committing.

Are your choir venues accessible for disabled members?Yes, we strive to hold our choir rehearsals in venues with disabled access and facilities. Please check our 'Locations and Term Dates' page for specific information about each venue.

What are the age restrictions?Our choir is for Adults 18+ and there is no upper limit on age and all adults are welcome!
