You Are Not Alone: Our Community Choir’s Tribute to Mental Health and Togetherness

Updated: Apr 1

Over the past two weeks, The Stage Door Choir has been on a truly uplifting journey during our Feel Good Fortnight, raising an amazing £246 for Mind Charity — an organisation close to our hearts, doing vital work in mental health support.

This fortnight wasn’t just about singing; As a community choir passionate about mental health it was about connection, joy, and the deep sense of community that music brings. As a group, we explored the many benefits of singing together, from improved mental clarity and reduced stress to a stronger sense of belonging. With a focus on breathing techniques, mindfulness, and the joy of harmonising as one, our sessions became little pockets of peace and energy in the week.

At the heart of Feel Good Fortnight was one very special song: “You Will Be Found” from the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen. This powerful anthem became our musical and emotional anchor, offering a message that deeply resonated with our purpose — you are not alone.

“You Will Be Found” speaks directly to anyone who’s ever felt isolated or unheard. The song begins in quiet vulnerability and builds into a soaring, emotional chorus that feels like a group hug in musical form. It’s about reaching out, being seen, and knowing someone is there for you — themes that align so closely with Mind’s mission and the healing power of music.

For us, learning this song together wasn’t just a vocal exercise — it was a shared experience of vulnerability and strength. As voices blended and confidence grew, so did the message: You matter. You belong. You are not alone.

Throughout Feel Good Fortnight, we witnessed the magic that happens when people come together in song. We left rehearsals lighter, more grounded, and most importantly — connected. Whether it was a first-timer nervously joining in or a long-time member harmonising with full heart, every voice added to the energy that made this fortnight so special.

We are so proud to have raised £246 for Mind, and even more proud of the community spirit that grew stronger with every note we sang.

Thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and supported us. Here’s to more music, more connection, and more feel-good moments.
