Greenwich & Wimbledon Rehearsals – A Joyful Return to Song with The Stage Door Choir
This week felt extra special as The Stage Door Choir returned to our rehearsal venues in Greenwich and Wimbledon – and wow, what a welcome-back it was. The rooms were buzzing with energy, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling you get when people come together to sing again. Seeing so many familiar, smiling faces back in the room was genuinely heart-warming… and we were just as thrilled to welcome some brand-new singers who absolutely blew us away from the very first note. It’s this shared exploration that makes The Stage Door Choir feel less like a class and more like a creative community.

Learning Never Enough 🎶
Our focus this week was the powerful showstopper Never Enough from The Greatest Showman. Together, we worked on building a rich, unified blend of harmonies, learning how to generate energy through the body, and developing confident, healthy belting technique – all in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
Under the expert guidance of our musical directors – Dominic Veall in Greenwich and Oliver Payne in Wimbledon – rehearsals struck the perfect balance between technique and joy. (And yes, the stunning arrangements are also by Oliver Payne 👏.)

Storytelling, Emotion & Connection
Beyond the notes, we spent time digging into the story behind the song. What is the character longing for? Where does the vulnerability live? How does emotion shape the sound? The discussions were thoughtful, honest, and inspiring – with some truly brilliant input from across the room. It’s this shared exploration that makes rehearsals feel less like a class and more like a creative community.
